Pretensions
Not deaf, yet we refuse to listen
Listen to the truth
Listen to the needs of others
As if listening to the truth only hurts
Not dumb, yet we fail to speak
Speak our mind freely
Speak what is right
As if speaking may not be beneficial to oneself
Not blind, yet we pretend not to see
See the world as it is
See the injustice done to others
As if seeing is a contradiction you can avoid
Not lame, yet we refuse to walk
Walk the extra mile
Walk alongside others
As if walking the walk takes a toll on you
We are all just handicaps
Sheltered in our own cocoons
Blinded by our own insecurities
Disabled by our own prejudices
We are not what we pretend to be
Listen!
Speak!
See!
Walk!
Just break free!!!
