Is “Why not?” a good answer?

It is not that I don’t fit in
I just refuse to do so
Ain’t no round peg in a square hole
Just choosing to avoid being shackled

Don’t expect me to be politically correct

If you are acting like an idiot
No, not gonna take it in my stride

If you don’t respect me
No, not gonna turn the other cheek

If you don’t reciprocate my love
No, not gonna wallow in despair

If you do me wrong
No, not gonna let it slide

It is not that I am a rebel
It is just common sense

But I am not cutting my nose to spite my face
That is stupid as stupid does

I am an outsider by choice
