Hide a lie by making up another
You cannot put out fire with petrol
Hide your sadness with a smile

You cannot conceal sugar in salt
Seek absolution by being evil
You cannot drink soup with a fork
Seek company in loneliness

The mayfly has but hours to live
The tortoise a century
No deception in how they live
Why should we?

Good or bad, right or wrong
Truth or lies, rich or poor
We can’t run forever
Reality always prevails
