Trickster’s Karma

 

He was called a trickster
A conman extraordinaire
A sweet-talking charlatan
A devil in disguise

He was unaware he was all these
Only to be told he was
By an accomplished fraudster,
Seeking his own legitimacy

Now he is in a daze,
Confused
Bewildered
In a predicament.

Is he a trickster or straight shooter?
A conman or an Honest Abe?
A sweet-talker or a foul-mouthed brigand?
A devil or a saint?

Would others take a pretender’s words
To be the gospel truth?
Or would they reveal the true
trickster? conman? flatterer? fiend?
