Charade
Life is a charade and death is the end game
We pretend to ignore the inevitable reality
Building a false eternity
All the while racing from womb to tomb
Birth and death are two ends of human reality,
When it begins and when it ends is beyond our control
The certainty of one teaches us the value of the other
Yet we live life oblivious to nature’s truth
Do we fear death itself?
Or losing that we have created in between?
Money, power, position
None of these matters when judgment day comes
We yearn, we love, we covert
We lust, we greed, we pride
To what end?
Until the day arrives, life has to remain a celebration
How long or how short, we will never know!
